The 5P’s women football team has book the first spot in the finals of the ongoing Concerned Parents and Teachers Sports Association (CPTSA) Female Football Tournament. The 5P’s women achieved the feat when they pulled off a 1-0 victory over the favoured Villa squad during their encounter at the YASCO Sports Complex on Tuesday night.
Playing in the final game of a triple-header, Amber Milward was the encounter’s only goal-scorer but it was enough to see the 5P’s women through to the finals of the 8th Annual CPTSA tournament.
5P’s will now await the results between CPTSA Wings and Ottos Tigress as it will decide who they will face in the finals slated for Thursday at 6 p.m. Ottos Tigress must defeat CPTSA Wings on Wednesday evening if they are to make the Finals. If not, Villa Lions will take that spot by virtue of goal difference.
Meanwhile, Ottos Tigress and SAP played to a 1-1 draw in the day’s opening contest. SAP was first to find their mark from Iola Simmons, while Tigress equalised through Ranatta Douglas.
However, organisers have given SAP their marching orders out of the tournament for ill-discipline and unsportsmanlike conduct.
Also, Young Warriors and CPTSA Wings played to a 2-2 draw in a bottom of the table clash.
Young Warriors found the net first through Roxanne Apping and Katey Lee, but Georgetta Lewis broke away twice to equalise.

Both players were sent packing by the referee, and will remain on the sidelines for the rest of the tournament.
Another Villa Lions player, Kadie Roberts, was red carded and sat out the following game. In that game, four goals came from Quancy Joseph, two from Kadie Roberts, and one each from Nikisha Samuel, Jahlene Camacho and Nikisha Samuel.
In the second game, despite a battering of 13 shot goal attempts by SAP, CPTSA Wings was able to hold their opponents to a goal-less draw.
In the third game, 5P’s Anya DeCourcy slammed a one–nil defeat to Ottos Tigress. 5P’s had eight strikes on goal, while Ottos Tigress managed to get off only two.
The tournament continued on Sunday with 5P’s verses SAP. It was a nil-all draw in the day’s first game. In the second, without the services of former national goalkeeper Kelesha Antoine, due to an injury which incurred during the first game, CPTSA Wings crumbled to an eight-nil defeat from former champions Villa Lions. Goals for Villa Lions came from Britney Jacobs with four, Patrice Davis - two, and Quancy Joseph - two. Wings were only able to get off one shot on goal by Georgetta Lewis.
In the third match of the evening, Young Warriors suffered their second defeat to Ottos Tigress, this time 3–1.
The two Ottos Tigress goals came from Shanike Harris and the third from Toyann Bennett. The lone goal for Young Warriors came from Sennore Barthley.

In the second game, Moura Murray scored an early goal in the first half to give SAP a 1 – nil win over Young Warriors. SAP had 15 shots on goal, while Warriors could manage only 4.
The third game saw Ottos Tigress upset favorites Villa Lions. Shenike Harris shot for Tigress midway in the first half, and kept the Lions at bay to capture the important 1–nil win. Both teams had few opportunities, with Ottos Tigress getting off 5 shots on goal, while Villa Lions had 3.
